Vintner Competition

2020 Vintner Competition

More than 30 wineries will wow judges with their best wines during this year’s vintner competition at Pinot, Pigs & Poets. Judging will be conducted by a panel of qualified tasters and knowledgeable consumers.

Each wine will be presented to judges in individual glasses without indication of region, vintage, or price. Judges will evaluate each wine independently and without discussion, recording their scores, which will then be tabulated to determine each wine’s ranking. The tasting order is random, and the bottles are not visible. If a bottle of wine is noticeably flawed, a different bottle of the same wine will be substituted.

Winners will be announced during the Pinot, Pigs & Poets tasting.

Guests will have the chance to enjoy the same portfolio of old pinot favorites and new pinot discoveries, as each winery will donate a case of its delicious wine for the competition and tasting.
